Re:Fest Re:View (part 2)

By Scott Boylston

While our last Re:FEST wrap-up posting provided a great review of the overall event, we wanted to make sure the results of the Design & Build competition were also presented. Luckily, Charisse Bennett, who organized the joint fundraiser as a part of her MFA thesis in Design Management at SCAD, has covered all of the details in thorough fashion on her own blog.

Charisse’s blog covers the Award Winners here,  and an in-depth look at the Best of Show winner here.

Some of the press coverage can be found on these sites:  Connect Savannah  |  Savannah Magazine  |  The Inkwell  |  Savannah Morning News  |  Savannah Morning News  |  Savannah Morning News: Bill Dawers

We have a tremendous amount of respect and gratitude for all of the sponsors: Butterhead Greens, Creative Approach, Crepe-a-Diem, Cup-to-Cup, Footprint Savannah, Form, Foxy Loxy, Ice Pop PeddlersJohnnie Ganems, Moon River Brewing, The Noodle Bowl, Olympia Cafe, Perc Coffee, Shwarma King, Smooth, Taco Abajo, Telfair Museum, Thrive, Trident Sustainability Group, and Zunzi’s.

And to our amazing hosts: Southern Pine Company, Dilated Spectrum, Wooden Sheep and Labor Ready, and of course, to Rene Teran of Wellfed Magazine!

An expression of gratitude must also be conveyed to the fantastic jury, comprised of SCAD Architecture professor Julie Rodgers-Varland, Urban Designer Christian Sottile, Emergent Structures board member Mark Fitzpatrick, and Humane Society-Savannah Executive Director Lynn Gensamer.
